I finished these booties for my friend, Cicadabug. She’s at the hospital now, and I’m anxiously awaiting news on the delivery of her sprogs!
In the meantime, these were knit out of sock yarn on US0 needles, with 3-stitch icord ties. They are tiny, but stretch then stretch back to cling to a baby’s wiggly foot!
Now I need to get one more pair completed, so I can ship off a package before the babies outgrow these tiny things!
UPDATE! Right after I posted this, I checked out her blog, and there are two healthy babies arrived safe and sound … boy and girl! Guess I better get a move on with those other booties, eh?
Here is a photo of the finished ‘Hawk Stockings!
I tried to put the elastic cording in, but didn’t like how it pulled in at such an awkward spot. So, opted for garters, instead, which look cute as well!
I think I still have enough of this yarn left to make a nice hat or something… maybe some mitts as well!

…that I can’t wait for the whole election thing to be over. I’m over it already. Really.
That is all!

I finished up my ‘Hawk Stockings last night… well, except that I think I’m going to add some thread elastic to the ribbing at the top, because they tend to droop a little over the knee. But that will be a quick fix sometime today, I think, and then photos to follow.
I’m glad to have these done! I finished the first in less than a week. I started the second immediately, then it went into hibernation mode while I worked on a plethora of other projects. Once I got the second stocking out again, I think it only took about three evenings of knitting to get them done!
Photos when I have them… in the meantime, gotta get CC up and going, get to Target and Costco, get EK off her bus, get DA’s track stuff to him before school gets out, make sure JS and his friends get to the movie theatre on time, pick up GC from a playdate, do a little laundry, and plan dinner. Not much, wouldn’t you agree?

The weather is nice. The day has been far too filled with stuff — in-home photography, helping with last-minute Bike Rodeo planning with Fuul for DS, shopping, lawn mowing. I’m getting really fed up with my cough; its going on 2 1/2 weeks now.
Maybe when Fuul and DS and GC go to the Rodeo, I’ll take CC and EK on a walk. Maybe get out the big stroller to take them. Or the wagon. I wonder if they’d stay sat well enough to use the wagon.

CC woke up all perky and acting unsick–at three this morning–yawn!
Everyone left for school and work at normal times, with no complaints of stomach issues at all.
I’m hoping we’re all good by then!

CC was sick again today. I sat on the couch alternately holding him or not holding him–as his whims dictated–for several hours. By evening, he was miraculously cured, fell asleep on the couch, then woke up acting unwell again at nine.
He’s not thrown up again since early this morning, so I hope that’s a good sign. I think everyone else has mostly moved through the whole mess, knock wood.
Its a new week… wish us a better one!

I finished up my toe-up socks that I’ve had the yarn for forever! I started at least four different patterns with this yarn before finally deciding that I should just stick to some plain-vanilla pattern, and let the yarn talk for itself! Downside: I realized after about an inch that I was working with two different sized US1 needles — they are both listed as the same size, but they really aren’t. On the upside: I was able to use the smaller needle on the bottom of the socks, and the larger on the top, so I got a firmer fabric on the part with the heavier wear, and a lacier fabric on the top. All worked out. Until I finished them. I bound off loosely, but it just wasn’t loose enough, so I picked it out and redid the bind-off in a tubular bindoff, which has much more give to it. I don’t love the look, but I think it has more to do with my doing it for the first time and still figuring out what needs to be tight and what can be looser than not actually liking the look of the technique.
Here’s a nice shot of the embroidered daisy on Sophie’s backside!
I finished up a bunny called Sophie; not sure what her name will wind up, but that’s the pattern name. I love this pattern, because, in spite of the fiddly-picking-up-of-stitches, when you finish a part, its done! There’s no assembly or stitching to do with the parts at the end.
I added a little pink daisy on its backside, just for fun. EK saw the bunny and grabbed it, and has played with it on and off all day. It wasn’t originally intended for her, but I’m pretty certain that that’s where its going to wind up!
This is a test post from , a fancy photo sharing thing.
(I’m having difficulty getting the photos from flickr to show up on my blog in this format–still going to play around with that–so I’ve gone ahead and posted them as separate items above. I think the links to Cicada’s gifts still work here, but I still hope she’ll not be reading them here! hint hint!)
I’ve finished up four projects in the past two days! Of course, none of them had more than about an hours work left in them… but having them done is nice!

I finished two small gifts for a friend who is expecting twins any minute now… cute little things, but I’m not going to put the pictures up here, and trust that Cicada will know better than to click on either of these links!

Anyway. Only four more works-in-progress listed on my ravelry page; I may even keep up momentum and get some of them done, as well! (Or maybe I’ll reward myself by casting on something entirely new instead! LOLOL!)

…why do you ask?

…me!
I spent the whole day in bed sick. Fuul worked from home and helped out with the little ones who are still recovering. DA and Fuul are both feeling unwell this evening.
Blah!
I’m a little up and keeping down some tentative stuff now, so we’ll see if I’m not back on track by tomorrow… feel free to keep your fingers crossed for me!

CC started throwing up this afternoon.
And I found out that at least a few of the big kids (who should know better) “just took sips” of the Capri Suns on the counter this afternoon–the ones that CC and EK were drinking at lunch time. Can you say marathon tag-teaming?
I want the weekend off… anyone want to trade???
