August 31, 2008weekendI just got home from spending a few days with a couple of kids’ at my parent’s house… visiting, shopping, visiting… and realized I came home with no photos of cousins playing together! Oops! (Maybe M will send me some??) August 28, 2008things i’m tired of #764Schools and neighborhood groups hosting ‘potluck picnics’ that are really obligatory informational meetings that insist on your involvement when you thought you were headed for a nice social event. If they want an info meeting, then say its an info meeting, instead of calling something a family event and then frowning when I bring my toddlers along and they don’t play along with the ’sit quiet and be preached at’ part of the night. *sigh* hmmdo we think that eating enough reeses will make all the stress melt away? do we think my waistline can take it? August 20, 2008my optimism runneth over……or at least the rainclouds do! I’ve been watching the weather all morning, with intermittant, light, misty showers. I decided that the kids were at each others’ throats too much, and a trip to the park was in order. It was misty-raining outside, but we were prepared for that. I put the new weather shield on so EK and CC would stay dry, and we headed out. Mist turned to sprinkles turned to rain by the time we reached the park. Being the optimists we are (bwahaha!) we talked about walking down to the library (another 2 miles!) and stopping for ice cream and french fries at Wendy’s… but EK was getting upset that we weren’t playing at the park, and the rain, if anything, was getting heavier! So, home again, home again. Soaking wet. Kids down for naps (though I don’t think anyone is sleeping — silly kids!) and I’m doing bills. Woohoo. Not nearly so fun as a walk to the park! August 15, 2008yesterday, today![]() Yesterday, a few of us went to the zoo… lots of fun, but the 91 degrees outside made for some grumpies before we came home (not naming names here!). The rest of everyone went to Fuul’s office’s trip to a local water park. Stayed all day. All came home ‘rosy’ from the sun (and slightly crispie-fied, as well!) They also had a good time. For all the fun of yesterday, though, I’m now in bed with a raging migraine that isn’t responding to the meds. Waah. Good thing I got the cute shots yesterday. August 11, 2008success!EK peed in her little potty for the first time this morning! (Of course she denies it — she’s like that, not wantin attention focused on her! — but it happened!) Let this be the start of a great step forward before school starts in 3 weeks!
